You could have said sorry...Geesh

Granted I live in new york. Its a pretty populous city and there will be random bumping. I acknowledge that, I expect that but I still expect to hear an excuse me or a sorry. Somehow I think the fact that it is bound to happen causes people to neglect that particular part of speech.

When I ride the train, I've gotten stepped on, sat on, and nudged. I an count on one hand how many people apologize for those actions without being prompted to do so. Sometimes you think well maybe they didn't realize they stepped on your foot but you're only in denial. If you plant your foot on something mushy and the floor is solid chances are you've stepped on someone or you stepped in shit and since we're on the train I'd go with the former. The offending party will look up at you in your face and then go on as though nothing happened. Like looking into your face made it somehow better, like by your looking at me was a privilege I somehow won as a result of your elephant like stomp on my foot. Some people even think because you have ear phones on they don't have to extend that courtesy because you wouldn't be able to hear them. To that I say two things:
First I can lip read, secondly if I were deaf and you did that I'd cuss you out in sign language.
Just a Side note...
I've noticed that the majority of the people who offend me in this way are white or non ethinic. I don't want to call it white privilege but damn... I don't look threatening, I actually look up at the person and wait for an apology before I get stank. Let's say if this happened 10 times, I've had to request my apology 8 times. I really would like to do a sociological study to figure out if another white person would get the same treatment as I in the similiar circumstance.

See this is one of the reasons I thank God I don't have to deal with public trans. 1 I hate crowed spaces and 2 I can't stand rude ass people. I mean I'm extra courteous and make it a point to say excuse me so what's so hard about saying it.

I was recently at my bff graduation and it was like a reception after we were standing around talking and people kept coming past bumping me not saying shit. So the last person I said you could at least say excuse me. Then I moved and went to a corner to chill and wait on them. Everyone like what's wrong with him why is he over there in the corner. I'm thinking because I'm 2 seconds away from snapping on the next person that bumps me.

I've always said(and heard from others) that white people(and Asians too) are the rudest! Excuse me is not in their vocab.

The train is the worse place in the world I mean people are so rude and the truth is it is the white people who think that since you should know its going to be crowded you don't need to say excuse me....I think they should say sorry because one day I am going to snap and just black out and just start deckin' people....lmao no but seriously they can you the word excusme and sorry....

ummmm...we dont ride ride trains or have subways down here in AZ..BUT we do have buses and people will commonly mumble a sorry.
But if your on your way to the bus stop most people (driving) WILL try to run you over or get damn near close to it.

OMG!!! I ride the nyc train system also and I notice the same thing!!! NO one says "excuse me" or "sorry" for stepping on you or pushing you out the way...

And like u said...wht ppl have become very rude. They alwys were...but it's like they built up a crzy wall against ethnic ppl on the train b/c they knw they will hear our mouths x's 10 for doing some stupidness like not saying 'excuse me'.

I also hate when ppl have no sense of direction! they're just waling aimlessly in the subway!!!

Damn I'm mad that I am late with this post... You know what my solution is to rude individuals as such??? Push their arse right back!!!! I do it all the time in the mall when someone doesn't have the common courtesy to say excuse me after they've bumped you... Oh and the hubby has offically banned me from the mall for this...
