The first was easy enough. WHo doesn't like Marvel comics?
The second pulled my heartstrings and made me ask myself what did i do? (In one of those serious pontificating voices too)
We read Curious George's Big Book of Curiosity and get to the page about family
So one by one I identify each family member and king repeats after me.
Me: sister
king: sister
Me: do you have a sister
king: No
Me: Brother
King: Brodder
Me: Brother
King: Brodder
Me: sigh.. do you have a brother
King: No
Me: Mother
King: Modder
Me: Mother
King: I already said that
Me: sigh. ok. DO you have a mother?
King: No
Me: Well mother is another word for mommy. Do you have a mommy?
King: Yes
Me: Mommy kisses
Me: Father
king: Fodder
Me: Father
King: I said fodder already.
Sidenote it's always funny how crystal clear children speak when they're being rude or sassy.
Me: do you have a father?
King: No
Me: King father is another word for daddy, do you have a daddy?
King: No
Me: You don't have a daddy?
King: Nope only mommy.
Me: Mommy kisses
We went on to finish the first half of the book (that book is toooo big for me to read all in one night but the entire time I kept thinking, what did I do to my baby? I know you all are going to say it's not kingsmomma, it's kingsdad that is the problem but one has to properly analayze the situation to figure where they factor into this and I know that I am 50% to blame in this situation.

Why do you think you did something wrong?
I have been reading and lurking on your blog for over a year or 2. I enjoy your blog postings. I had to comment on this post, because although I'm not a parent I did have a father with serious issues. I don't think that you are to blame for King not knowing his father. Through your blog you have tried to reach out to him to get to know his son, it's his responsibility to do so. I think you are doing a fabulous job as a parent. You don't bad mouth his dad and you have tried. There's not much else you can do. Just hope his father realizes what he's missing out on before it's too late, like my dad did.
